My Review
Have you
ever come across that one story that just jumped inside your soul and gripped
it so tight you just knew it would forever leave a mark? Sacrifice, for me, is
that story. Crew’s story.
I want
anyone reading this review to know a few things:
1. I am purposely leaving this a very
short review. AND
2. There was at no point a time where I
didn’t LOVE this book. AND
C. Crew will melt your heart. Completely. Sacrifice will
Obliterate it.
Adriana Locke has delivered us readers a superbly written
story about a man’s quest to do anything he can for his family. For his girls. Ms.
Locke took a chance and wrote a devastatingly beautiful world where at every
turn it feels like you can’t quite figure out if that world will get better; if
there will be any light at the end of the tunnel. And she delivered a smack
down!! J
I fell down the rabbit hole. I fell in love with Crew’s love
that he gives. I was in envy of Julia’s strength and determination. Her vulnerability.
For Ever. My heart wept. I also went out of my mind crazy waiting just to have
a glimpse of Will. I want to say a few things about Will, but this is Crew’s
time so I don’t want to steal his thunder away but….. DANG. WILL.

AHHH!!! This is such a great book!! I am excited that the
world can now read it! I was given an advanced copy and have been sitting
trying to figure out how I would write my review. I want everyone to go in
almost blind like I did, to experience the raw emotions that I had and that
completely took over!
Get your tissues, some wine or whatever you drink to calm
your nerves, because once you start reading Sacrifice you aren’t going to stop;
you will be for-Ever sCREWed.

“She’s been missing him a lot lately.”
Julia’s voice is barely a whisper and my chest constricts. Our conversations don’t normally make it to discussing Gage unless we’re already arguing. The fact that she just brought it up shocks me and I’m not comfortable with it. I don’t know how to take it. I feel my jaw pulse with frustration and scramble to change the subject again. “Why is it so chilly in here?”
Her smile disappears and she tugs her sweatshirt nervously. “I didn’t know it was.”
“How can you possibly not know?” I start to the thermostat across the room when she clears her throat.
“The heater isn’t working right. I asked Lane to come by and look at it earlier this week.”
“And he hasn’t been here yet?” I shoot her a look and she shakes her head. “He’ll be here tonight.” I dig my cell outta my pocket.
“Crew, don’t. Please. The last time you called my landlord he was a complete jerk to me for a couple of months. I just got on good terms with him again.”
I scroll through my contacts list, looking for his name.
“Crew ...” I know her doe-eyes are pleading with me. I also know if I look up at her, I’ll be somewhat inclined to give in. So I don’t.
